Better yet, try communicating with your employees directly to let them know which tools are best for the occasion. This way, there is no confusion, doubts or even setbacks at work.

Nowadays, office guys and gals are all about the ketos, the veggies and anything else that is organic and not artificially produced. So forget about serving a couple of pizza boxes in your company’s break rooms on a Friday.

This trend has been especially witnessed in large organizations like Facebook and Google. That’s because these firms have expanded food options to cater to a vast diversity of different tastes.

 Offering at least some healthy options is crucial for employees to stay fresh, focused and motivated. Plus, it can also positively impact job satisfaction and retention.

Sometimes just telling your employees that their doing a great job is enough to get them engaged at work. This means you trust them and their abilities to get whatever work they’re qualified to do better than anyone else at the office. You could just send them a simple email or slack that says, “Just wanted to inform you that you’re doing a great job.” Or better than that, you could do a live chat review with them to compliment the hard work they’re doing. Both of these can be used as examples for providing employees with the confidence they need to keep going.

Another thing you can do is encourage corporate communication. With this, you would want everyone in your company to have the same perception of your organization. To make this possible, you need to set up a series of interconnected activities for your employees. 

With this in mind, your employees will be able to get a clear picture of what your organization is like. Thus, they can work more towards their goals. But be sure that you’re absolutely clear about your company’s goals and ambitions.

The tired old ping pong table approach has gone dry and isn’t something you should bank on to boost employee morale. Offer your employees a chance to win prizes that mean something by gamifying their regular office tasks.

To be frank, you need to let your employees engage in a little friendly competition with one another. You can increase cooperation among your employees by creating teams with employees from different departments. For example, whoever wins, either people from accounting or marketing will win an extra day of Paid-Time-Off (PTO).

Cooperating with other colleagues from different departments helps create a personal connection between employees. That’s because each employee has the same goal in mind and will try to collaborate with one another in order to achieve it.

Coaching is another great way to build employee engagement and personal connection. An ideal case would be to look at what Yum! Brands (the parent company of Taco Bell and KFC) does. All 130,000 of their employees are provided with midyear development plans as well as 360-degree reviews to help them know about the skills that they need to improve upon.

Managers have a crucial role in this process. HR leaders can maximize coaching effectiveness by encouraging managers not to cancel one-on-one coaching sessions. Also, if possible,  HR leaders can encourage managers to reschedule instead of canceling their sessions.

Shelisa Gautreaux, who is the senior director of corporate HR at Yum! Says, “We want our employees to reinvent themselves [and to] elevate their skills and elevate their contributions.”

This is where corporate communication comes in handy again. This is because you can develop training programs and activities that specifically cater to the skills of your employees. This way, your employees can transition into their positions more smoothly.
