Sound Editing

What is sound editing?

Sound editing is the process of taking all audio media assets and assembling them into a finished audio track. This includes cleaning up audio, setting dialogue audio levels, soundtrack levels, ambient and background sound levels. Sound editing occurs simultaneously with video editing in the video production process. Along with video editing, sound editing combines storytelling and problem solving to produce a high quality finished product. The storytelling aspect of sound editing means knowing how to arrange the audio media assets in a precise order to tell the most meaningful story. The technical aspects of sound editing include the ability to use the various softwares and being able to execute solutions to problems that come to frution.

Why sound editing is important.

As more and more devices are created with the ability to capture audio media, the ability to produce a high quality audio track from those assets becomes more and more important. Sound editing is the hardest part of video & sound production because of its time intensive, problem solving and creative facets. Humans connect based on audible communication. Studies have been done showing that audible communication is more powerful than visual communication in connecting people. Therefore, having a high quality, clear audible story is extremely important. For efficiency and effectiveness we created a data asset management system that allows us to organize your story and utilize assets from any point of time. We live in the data age and everyone has their own audio data portal. We know exactly what to do with this data to produce the best results.

Sound editing is storytelling. Storytelling creates personal connection.
